There may not be enough space on the building plot. In this case, you may need to temporarily use a public transport area. Examples include
- setting up a building site,
- the storage of building materials or
- the erection of scaffolding.
As the Road Traffic Regulations prohibit the use of obstacles on the road, you will require a special permit for these cases. The responsible authorities can authorise such exceptions in individual cases.
There are works that affect road traffic. You must obtain certain instructions from the competent authority before starting such work. These orders can also be obtained by the company you have commissioned to carry out the construction work.
For example:
- In what way must the public area be cordoned off and signposted?
- Does traffic have to be restricted, diverted or specially regulated - even if the road is partially closed - and how is this to be done?
- Do closed roads and diversions have to be signposted and if so, how should this be done?
Follow the instructions of the authorities. If necessary, construction lights, flashing lights or similar must be installed. The authorities may require the installation of traffic lights.
