Request approval for the relocation or modification of telecommunication lines

If you are the owner or operator of a telecommunication line or a telecommunication network serving public purposes, you require the consent of the landowner to relocate or modify this infrastructure. If the property is a public transport route, you must submit the application to the infrastructure manager. With the approval of the road owner, you can obtain any other necessary authorisations.

Once you have obtained all authorisations, you can generally start the construction work. Please note any conditions, ancillary provisions and agreed deadlines.

Basically, using the "Broadband Portal" online service offers you the following advantages:

Clear presentation of your submitted applications and resubmission function
Provision of standardised formulations for comments and conditions
Direct communication option with the responsible authority
Interface option for integration into your own system environment, specialised procedures and GIS systems
Early coordination of restrictions or principles (installation guidelines) that the competent authority wishes to be observed during implementation
Early communication between the responsible authority and the telecommunications company (TKU) regarding the most effective route planning possible
All notifications and documents can be processed in digital form, thus ensuring seamless processing. This shortens response times, which means that the focus is on actual and widespread implementation.

Prerequisite

You are the owner or operator of public telecommunications networks.
You are the owner or operator of telecommunication lines serving public purposes.
You have been assigned the right of way by the Federal Network Agency.

Procedure

You can apply for line relocations in public transport routes in writing or online.
The process begins with the application submitted by you as a telecommunications company and ends with the notice of approval from the infrastructure manager and its legally effective delivery.

When submitting the application, the construction project must be clearly described. This includes, for example, the exact location, the planned time period, the type of installation, material and installation depth.
Proof of the existing right of way must be submitted and, in the case of service providers, additional authorisation from the telecommunications company.
The infrastructure manager checks the application documents and approves them.
The infrastructure manager has the option of attaching ancillary conditions to the approval, which you must take into account when implementing the measure.
The approval will be sent to you within 3 months of the application being submitted.
This period may be extended by one month if the application is more difficult. You will be informed of this.
If you have not received a notice of approval after three months, your application will be deemed to have been approved.
